Self-made Dark Souls Character Lore: Maliq of Astora

The Lore of Knight Prince Maliq of Astora

In the ancient age, lived a man, a knight of the Royal Family of Hounthor. He was born from the royalty of his family. His name was Maliq, well-known as the Knight Prince Maliq of Hounthor, which is a territory of Astora. Therefore, he was also known as Maliq of Astora. Famously, he was also known to be kind, caring, honest, brave, and just. In battle however, he was also known to be a man who disregards honor when it comes to war; that he would do everything for victory without harming the innocence from both sides, but when he fought in a duel, he preferred a fair fight. He was confidence in his skill in fighting that he preferred to wield no shield. Most of the time, he was given a shield from his father, the king of Houndoor himself, but he refused to use it. He was also a man who likes to go against the rule and tends to do things alone instead of relying from others. Due to this, he was then known as a Rebellious Prince. As a warrior knight, and as a leader, he was known to be a man who really cares for his men, he appreciated them more than himself in battle, even though he preferred to fight his battle alone without any troops. He once single-handedly defeated 300 troops by himself with his pure fighting skill, combining his strength and agility, even though end up having a lot of wound on his body.
One day, he went to a land, venturing to the wild, for the sake of freedom. He looked for freedom so he would not have to lead an army, or be the next King of the kingdom in Houthor. He also refused to marry a maiden from his country which in his opinion, it’d led him to a boring life, making an endless circumstance of the family, even if he is to marry a very beautiful and stunning maiden. He rather married someone outside of the country or non-noble maiden, like maiden from Vinheim, Carim, the Great Swamp, Zena, Catarina, Thorolund, and even a daughter of a farmer. In other words, he began his journey in purpose of a mere adventure, looking for a true freedom, where he can find a challenging life and even build a new life by finding a wife that is worthy to be his. Therefore, his journey, seeking of adventure, had just begun, from Houndoor.
He set himself on the journey in the east of his homeland by horse, and he went to Lordran. Arrived at Lordran, he dismounted his horse and decided to walk there by himself. With his trusty halberd, he had his armor well-smithed along with his greatsword and halberd. He was ready for everything that comes to him. As he arrived there, he saw a church from a far with a bell on it. Then he found himself in the front gate of the city. The city was somehow totally demolished and inhabitted by the undead. Some of them were hollow civillians who wield broken sword, some were hollow soldiers, some were hollow warriors, some were hollow thief, and some were hollow knight. In his very first encounter, he met some hollow thief and undead large dog. He managed to outfight them with his greatsword and made his way on the upper city. While fighting the thiefs and dogs, he wondered since it was his first that he took some damage. He realized it was important to fight with a shield on his other arm. However, one of the thief followed him and locked the door so that he could not go back there. There, he learned that he was at a city, a hollowed city, known as Undead Burg. As he made himself to the top, he found a bridge, behind the bridge, he was stunned at the view of the beautiful sun. He gazed at the sun and stood there for a long time, sitting down and resting there.
After having a rest and healing himself from his fight with hollow thiefs and hollow dogs down there, he decided to continue his journey. However, when he made his way to the bridge, he stood in shock, he saw a creature that he had never seen before. As he stood, he was careless; the big winged red creature unleashed a breath of fire towards him. He was burned, but he managed to survive the attack. He tried to approach the creature, and when the creature was about to breathe the fire, he dodged into the side of  a bridge, which protects him from the fire attack. While he was defending himself, he saw a downstair on the other side of the side bridge. He was confused whether to counter the creature’s attack, or to retreat and heal himself. He chose to attack the creature back and while he did, the dragon once again unleashed the fire breath from his mouth. He lied down due to the attack of the creature. For the very first time in his life, he was easily defeated by a creature that he did not even know. The creature, in fact, was known to be a Drake, which its name was the Hellkite Dragon. It occured to him because his kingdom was never attacked by this creature before.
After his death, his dead body was brought to an assylum, known as Undead Assylum. His sword was dropped in the bridge, while his halberd was taken by an undead, which later died in Undead Parish in front of  a church. He found himself as a hollow, a creature that he faced before. In his armor, he was thrown into a jail. He experienced to be in a jail before. He asked his father to punish him at jail for failing to carry out his mission in the battle, even though the battle was won by his kingdom thanks to his efforts. He was used to be at jail, therefore, he did not find it frustating to be in jail. However, he was frustated to know his decision to set on a journey to Lordran was incredibly wrong. Though so, he thought he did find a true challenge when he set himself to Lordran. He was totally nothing compared to those in Lodran. While he was wondering, suddenly a dead body was dropped from the top. He realized his jail had a big hole on its top. There, he found a knight, which is known an Elite Knight of Astora. He took the key, and got himself out of the cell. Thus, the Lore of the Knight Prince Maliq of Astora ended. And the story of the Knight Prince Maliq of Astora had just began. His name would be known as the Mighty Successor of Lord Gwyn, the once known as Lord of Sunlight, into the Lord of Cinder.

Now, that is my own character’s Lore in Dark Souls 1. May I know yours? ;)
